What do you wonder about and still want to know about differentiating instruction?
I am still very interested in learning different strategies to differentiate instruction. I have heard of many techniques but have never seen them implemented in a classroom. Some techniques I would like to see in action are “Choice Boards,” “Learning Menus,” “Tiering,” and “Centers.”
    My "Ah-Haa" Moment
What I found most interesting about the film was the amount or lack of perseverance in students. I am far too familiar with the "I don't get it" student who gives up the second he or she doesn't understand a question. I think it is important to have kids interact with each other before they come to me with their questions. By collaborating with each other, they are able to achieve a level of success that is important to gain confidence in themselves as well as their peers.

What does differentiated instruction mean to you?
To differentiate instruction means having to provide students with avenues that suit individual needs, abilities and learning styles.
What strategies have you used / or witnessed in the classes you have been in?
A good way to differentiate instruction in the classroom is to provide open-ended questions to facilitate a wide range of answers relevant to the individual student’s knowledge or experience.
What are some possible challenges in implementing such strategies?
One potential challenge in implementing open end questions is catering to a wide range of learning styles and giving each student a chance to participate. Often times if a teacher provides the class with a question intended for weaker students, stronger students may answer quicker than others. One way to avoid this is to call on students and give them the opportunity to participate.
